The DeWitt Family Ranch was established in 1897 in an area then known as West Point, by Henry DeWitt. In 1899, the town of Glencoe was founded and the ranch was officially located in Glencoe, OK. However, the road West Point is still there today and runs through the heart of DeWitt owned land and where all the beef for West Point Beef and Cattle is raised and finished.
Cattle has always been a primary product of DeWitt Ranch but once crops such as cotton & wheat were also a farm commodity. However, DeWitt Ranch no longer harvests crops and has converted most dirt to Bermuda grass in order to raise the highest quality farm raised beef.
West Point Beef is a beef and cattle company consisting of 3 DeWitt families, who now all raise cattle in Glencoe, OK with over 2,000 combined acres devoted to beef production. All West Point Beef is raised responsibly and humanely.
David DeWitt is the grandson of Henry DeWitt, founder of DeWitt Ranch. He wed Sylvia Floyd in 1978. They have 3 Children, Rachel, Joseph & Jenny, as well as 7 Grandchildren, Gunnar, Lexi, Emma, Luke, Lydia, Hadley & Eleanor.
DeWitt Ranch is registered as an Oklahoma Centennial Ranch and has won awards for their devotion to land conservation. Sylvia DeWitt has also been honored as the Outstanding Woman in Agriculture for Payne County in 2009.
David has devoted his entire life to implementing practical and sustainable agriculture practices to ensure the family land remains productive for both commercial agriculture and wild life.
Joseph DeWitt is the son of David & Sylvia DeWitt. He married Hailey Paschall in 2017. They have one daughter, Eleanor Rachel.
Joseph and Hailey live on the original homestead of DeWitt Ranch and run their own Cow/Calf operation in conjunction with DeWitt Ranch cattle. Joseph assists with the daily operations on DeWitt Ranch and is a vital role in new technology and ag practices and implements these as a way to increase agricultural outputs in the ranch.
Hailey not only works on the ranch, but also works in the office and is responsible (and works diligently) to maintain records and keep financial information is up to date.
Jenny Haken is the daughter of David & Sylvia DeWitt. She met the farm boy down the road and in 2006 wed Brent Haken. They have 3 children, Emma, Luke & Hadley. Brent already had a stocker operation when the two wed and have now grown the operation into a successful Cow/Calf operation, Haken Livestock. Brent and Jenny purchased a piece of the original DeWitt Ranch and built their home in the West Point area as well.
Brent & Jenny have received recognition from the Oklahoma Farm Bureau as the Excellence in Agriculture recipients as well served 7 years on the State Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers board where they traveled the state and U.S. to help lobby for agriculture, raised agriculture awareness, and promoted agriculture involvement to future leaders. Brent is still actively involved at the State level and makes numerous trips to State Capital through out the year to help ensure a strong agriculture backing in the future.
